Thirty-plus years in the technology and computer industry, Farrell managed all aspects of the not-for-profit ISP TRAIN from around 1997 until it was sold to Intercounty Electric in 2018. Though renamed Interconnect when acquired by Intercounty Electric, Farrell continued to manage and maintain every technical aspect of Interconnect until it was sold to Wave in 2024. For the first ten years of TRAIN's existence, Farrell also maintained the network, computers, and technology for the Texas County Libraries, built and maintained databases, mail servers, web servers, radius, video management, NVR, DVR, NAS, and SANS. He has designed, built, and maintained wireless P2P and wireless P2MP networks, fiber and copper networks and most of the technologies related to them. He is knowledgeable and has configured and maintained routers and switches from Cisco, Mikrotik, Ubiquiti, Sonicwall, Fortinet, Motorola, Ubiquiti, Cambium, Wave, Mimosa, RADWIN, Mikrotik, Redline and others using licensed and unlicensed spectrums.
